FF Crystal Chronicles details for
the GameCube…….
|
September 7, 2002 |
Square has announced that a
probable release date for FF Crystal Chronicles would be in Spring 2003
in Japan.
It focuses on action-oriented gameplay much like Zelda
rather than traditional RPGs and it is unknown on a possible North
American version at this time.

Final Fantasy I
and II confirmed for PlayStation remakes……
|
September 7, 2002 |
|
Following up a series of remakes in the past
year, Square has decided to port Final Fantasy I and II on the
PlayStation. While FF I was first released on the NES in North America,
FF II was only released on the Famicom in Japan only. As for the remakes
themselves, they will feature updated graphics and some cool new FMV
sequences. Also, Square plans to add improved sound quality and quick
saving options to both games as well. Right now, the remakes are set for
a Japan release but Square has not confirmed or commented on a possible
North American release yet. The remakes are scheduled for an October
31st release in Japan. |

Latest Squaresoft news since our time off....
|
June 29, 2002 |
|
Squaresoft recently announced that two side stories based off from Final
Fantasy X are now in development. The side stories are supposedly
planned to take place after the events of the ending of FF X and the
titles are unofficially named “Rikku” and “Yuna”. It still remains to be
seen about whether or not these two characters play the central role in
the games or just merely gain new abilities and other features. Right
now, there is no solid release date for these side stories in Japan, nor
any word of a North American port but more likely, the games will
release in Japan at the end of this year. Not all seems to be going well
at Squaresoft, even with the release of FF XI in Japan. After the dismal
failure of the FF Movie as well as a disappointing anime in Japan,
Squaresoft is now involved in a launch-day fiasco with FF XI. Buggy and
glitchy servers along with a host of other problems are now mounting in
Japan and many of the FFXI servers crash frequently. Also, Square has
been working hard to fix the huge amount of problems with the game but
honestly, FF XI hasn’t been as near as successful in Japan as Square
would’ve hoped for. Let’s hope this could all be fixed for the North
American release of FF XI. On the PC front, Square has recently started
to accept applications for their Beta testing program of FF XI for the PC
through PlayOnline. It’s going to be a Windows-based version and
available only in Japan for testing thus far. However, no word on a
North American or European versions of the PC Beta testing of FF XI
though…….. |

Version
III is here!
|
June 29, 2002 |
| The
wait is finally over! Version III is now up and running.
This will be the last layout change for quite a long time,
and also the last of the plain HTML versions (the next version might
be in other languages such as PHP); the only exception
may be the top/left navigation Flash movies, which may be further enhanced
once I learn some more advanced Flash. Here are the main changes:
-Brand new layout
featuring more graphics and organization
-A Flash navigational left and top menus
-Some small sections were added
-A vast majority of the scripts run off cgi (such as the
hit counter, guestbook,
and the poll
-Some new images and a new logo
Hope you enjoy
this layout change, and remember, if you have a comment or suggestion,
go to the forums, or contact us,
but please leave messages till we come back; replies will take a long
time!
