Final Fantasy
XII: Revenant Wings in the works

Square-Enix
has recently announced that they will release another FF XII title on
the Nintendo DS platform. The game is a sequel to FF XII and features
Vaan and Penelo, with no word yet on other future characters. The
current title is called "Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings." Square-Enix
will probably release more details about this project at the upcoming
Tokyo Game Show.

Final Fantasy XII
Event in New York City

With all
the FF XII hype in full swing, Square-Enix has planned a major
fan-oriented event in NYC on October 11th. People will have the
opportunity to play the final version of FF XII before it is set for
release on October 31 at one of NYC's largest consumer electronics
show, DigitalLife. The
festivities will take place in Times Square with various cosplaying
contests and other fun events.

Final Fantasy III
Special Edition DS Lite

Japanese gamers will see a special edition of Nintendo’s popular DS
Lite handheld released on August 24th in Japan. Included in the
special package is FF III for the DS as well as a white, crystal
version of the DS Lite. It will show artwork of the four main
characters in FF III as well as a serial number imprinted on the DS.
This set will retail for about 22 780 Yen.

Final Fantasy XII
Receives Allocades

Recently, at the annual PlayStation awards in Tokyo on July 25th,
Final Fantasy XII received the coveted double platinum prize to
recognize and honor its more than 2 million units of sales in Japan.
In addition, the award show hands out cash prizes for winning
developers. In the case of FF XII, the cash prize handed out is 2
million yen. Other notable RPGs that won platinum and gold awards are
Kingdom Hearts 2 and FF VIII: Dirge of Cerberus, respectively.
