Final Fantasy XIII
achieves massive sales in first week
|
March 23, 2010 |
|
Square-Enix has recently
proclaimed that FFXIII is the fastest selling title in the entire
history of the franchise. The first five days of release alone has
seen the title reach sales of 1 million copies in North America and
the game has shipped 5 million copies thus far. Then again,
remember that this is the first simultaneous release of FF on
multiple consoles (PS3 and Xbox360). This is encouraging news of
Square-Enix and they are no doubt quite impressed with overall
sales. However, the game still has a long ways yet to reach the
record mark of total sales set by Final Fantasy VII's 10 million
copies sold worldwide.

The theme song to FF XIII has recently been shown on

Sayuri, who newly debuted in 2009. The title of the song is "Kimi
ga iru kara", translated as "Because you're here" in English.
Despite the fact that the clip is quite short, it does sound pretty
good thus far. The single is set for a December 2nd, 2009 and

In addition, new details have emerged regarding
the gameplay of FF XIII. It is known as the Optima System and
appears to be an extension of FF XII's battle system. You can
assign specific AI-controlled roles/commands to the active party
members. Different usage of this system can result in bonuses,
such as improved attack power.
