QuickNavigation - FF Odyssey Fan Fiction Flowered Memories

Cloud was standing in downtown Midgar, not knowing what he was searching
for. He was feeling something, something he wasn't sure of. He started to
walk down the stone sidewalk. As he was walking, something caught his eye.

He turned and was just in time to see a sliver of pink fold across the
crowded streets. He didn't know what it was, but a thought slipped through
his mind. Could it be? He began to follow it as many thoughts began to
consume his mind. But, there was only one that was consistent.

Was it her?

He made his way through the crowds as he kept his eyes on the back of a girl
with a pink dress. He could see that her hair was brown and was pulled back
into a braid that hung down to her waist.

Is it her?

He began to walk anxiously faster.

It has to be her.

Suddenly, a voice came from behind him.
"Excuse me," It was voice that was too familiar. "Would you like to buy a
flower?"

Cloud turned around in hope, but only to find that no one was there; at
least, not the person he thought he would see. He looked ahead of him
again, and found that he could not see the pale pink anymore. He began to
run ahead, looking for that simple dress.

The scene began to change as he was running. He was no longer on the
streets of Midgar, but at a lake. This was the lake that he only saw in his
nightmares. In the center of it was a white beam of light. He knew it all
too well. She was standing in the white light, like a shadow.

Cloud stopped running just as everything else seemed to stop. He could no
longer hear his breathing.

It was her.

He took a step in the pond and a memory came upon him.

"What happened?" a voice asked as Cloud approached the streets of Midgar.
He looked at the girl with an angelic face in curiosity. He had no idea who
this girl was.
"I don't know," were the only words that could come out of his mouth.
"Would you like to buy a flower?" The beautiful voice asked.
Cloud extended his hand and received a perfect, pink flower.

The memory faded. Cloud didn't know what was going on and began to walk
closer to the girl in the light.

"Can you hear me?" A familiar beautiful voice asked.
Cloud opened his eyes to the face of a girl, looking down upon him. She
looked, some what, familiar.
"Are you all right?" She asked with concern in her eyes.
Cloud realized she was the girl who sold him the flower on the street.

Memories kept consuming Cloud. He couldn't stop them. Cloud took another
step.

"What now, legendary hero?" A voice asked. Cloud and Aeris were on stage
the Golden Saucer. He had to make a choice of kissing the princess, Aeris,
or not.
He walked over to Aeris, gently grabbed her hand and kissed it softly. His
face turned red, and a sense of emotion swept through his mind.

The brave warrior kept walking through the water, getting closer to her.
She stood there, like she was waiting for him.

"Cloud," A sweet voice addressed, "can you hear me?"
"Let me handle Sephiroth,"

There was no vision with this memory, he could just hear the words. He
looked over to Aeris, who was still standing there.

"It's only a matter of time before Sephiroth uses Meteor." The voice kept
on. "That's why I'm going to protect it,"
"I feel it. It feels like I'm being led on by something."

She still stood.

"I'll come back when it's all over."

'I'll come back when it's all over.' That wasn't a memory to Cloud, it was
more of an emotion. These were the words that have been repeating in his
mind since that day.

Cloud was really close to her now. The girl in pink looked every bit like
Aeris, but Cloud knew it was her. He could feel her. He looked into those
angelic green eyes, and lifted up his hand to touch her face. He wanted to
make sure that she was real.

He lifted his hand and grazed her soft skin with his touch.

Aeris? Cloud walked up the marble steps to see her. She was praying. What
was she doing here?
Sephiroth came from behind her as if he was her shadow. He lifted his
sword. Aerith looked up to see Cloud and smiled that smile he knew all too
well.
Cloud tried to move but couldn't. What was going on?
"The time...Is now..." Sephiroth whispered into the angel's ear.
She just kept smiling at Cloud.

Cloud looked at Aeris. A single tear went down her cheek. Was she
remembering, too? She took a hold of Cloud's hand.

Sephiroth slashed into the fragile body. The angel faltered, and her body
went limp.
No! Cloud wanted to scream but he had no voice. He watched as a bead of
materia fell from the life of Aeris. He also watched as the lifeless Aeris
fell. Cloud caught her in his arms.

Cloud opened his eyes and saw that he was holding Aeris in his arms, her
body limp. The tear was on her cheek still. Cloud wiped it away, like he
wished he could with that memory; just wipe it away.

He placed her in the water, once again. It wasn't fair that he had to let
go of her again. He didn't even get to tell her how sorry he was.

He watched as her frale body sunk once again. Only this time, there was
something still floating in the light.

A flower.
