Princess Ashe is heir to the Dalmascan throne and after the Arcadian occupation of Dalmasca, longs to reclaim her throne. She organizes a resistance movement to restore her kingdom back to its former peaceful state.
Lord Rasler is Ashe's husband and the two recently married just prior to the Arcadian invasion. Rasler dies in the following battle after the Arcadians invaded and afterwards, Ashe goes into hiding and eventually forms the resistance. Ashe is also a direct descendant of the legendary dynast-king from Dalmascan legend and is the "chosen one" by the gods to destroy the empire and restore peace to Ivalice.
Character Developments (Spoilers)
Ashe comes across as being very demanding but at the same time, a very determined and strong-willed person. Having lost almost everything held dear to her, she is willing to try almost anything to restore her kingdom and have her take the throne again. She also has her pride as a princess as she is not willing to accept being a puppet to Vayne and the empire. Ashe has to overcome her doubts and eventually discovers the true secrets of nethicite along the way.
One of the more developed and stronger female leads in the FF series. While perhaps not the sole main character of the game, the plot focuses a lot around her and she does take a leading role to the actual storyline. At times stubborn, Ashe is a determined and courageous women who wishes to take her throne back and get rid of the occupying forces that occupy her country and home.
