(Spoilers)
Galenth Dysley is actually the fal'Cie Barthandelus. He seeks to bring
"The Maker" back by means of the destruction of Cocoon.
After reviewing his true nature, he battles the party on several
occasions. He reveals the
existence of Orphan and states that the party's focus is to transform
into Ragnarok and destroy Cocoon.
In his final form, he is eventually defeated by the party.
