He has devoted his life to the betterment of Cocoon. Even though he has doubts about the fate of innocents during the Purge, he views the task of maintaining the stability of society as his sworn duty. Eventually, Yaag realizes that the l'Cie are not the enemy and orders a halt to PSICOM and Guardian Corps' operations. Yaag sacrifices himself to stop monsters from entering Edenhall to pursue the l'Cie.
