Frioniel
One of the rebels that set
out to destroy the Empire, like to use a sword as a weapon of choice. In the
early part of the game, he and the others are chased down and caught by the
Empire and are nursed back to health by the White mage, Ming-Wu. He leads the
rest in their quest to finally put a stop to the Emperor and his evil minions.
A strong fighter and a good character all-around.
Maria
Another mem ber of the rebel
group that sets out to destroy the Empire and restore peace to the world . Her
character is fairly positive and is supportive to various allies and friends.
She wields a bow and arrow and is better used in the back row. You probably
won’t get a decent bow weapon for her until later on in the game itself.
Guy
Probably one of the strongest
members of your party. A strong-guy, he is capable of wielding a two-handed
axe and while he seems to lack agility and defense early on in the game, eventually
he becomes a well-rounded character. Another member of the rebel group that
seeks to bring an end to evil and despair.
Leonheart
Another character that uses
a sword, much like Frioniel. In the beginning of the game, he gets caught by
the Empire and h is whereabouts are rather unknown throughout a good portion
of the game. He is incredibly strong and is solid in terms of sword skills.
Later on, you will encounter him but I won’t spoil it and say in what capacity
of situation.
Joseph
A resident of Salamand, a
northern city near the Snow Cave. He has a daughter named Nellie and seems to
be a wise person. He appears to know quite a bit about some special items and
things as the game wears on. He fights with his fists only and has the appearance
of a robed monk. A very sincere and honest person, he joins your party in the
quest to find the Holy bell to break the seal on the way to finding the sacred
flame of Kashoun.
Gordon
Yeah, he is a coward, much
like another FF character in a future FF game that I shall remain nameless.
He is no t willing to fight at all but as the journey wears on, your party encounters
him in Kashoun and he joins your quest after Maria convinces him that he is
not a coward and encourages him to bring up the courage to fight. He uses a
lance and is indeed a weak character, especially in the early going. You first
find him outside of the rebel hideout at Altea.
Reila
The other playable female
character in the game. She is a pirate and first encounters your party on the
way to the Castle of Dist. She suppli es the party with access to the ship and
thus, the ability to use the seas of FFII. One odd thing is that she is left-handed,
but she is the only character in the game that is. While she seems untrustworthy
and greedy, she does help the party in times of need.
Ming-Wu
An aid of Princess Hilda,
he is also a White Mage that aids your party in the early portion of the game.
He has powerf ul white magic spells, even though you don’t get to use him very
much. After the attack by the Empire in the beginning, he nurses the rebels
back to health.
Richard
Th e
last Surviving Dragoon. He lived at Dist Castle, but was swallowed by
Leviathan, where he's been living for awhile (yes, in Leviathan's stomach).
He is quite a strong character. He's the typical Knight, brave, and
trustworthy. He uses swords, and is covered in armor, from head to toe. Even
though his family is still at Dist waiting for his return, he would rather
join your cause to purge the land of evil.
