Edge is the young prince of Eblan who has an
extremely large and annoying ego as well. He also has the unique ability
to throw objects and since he’s a Ninja he can equip two swords at once and
use them in battle. Edge is quite arrogant and is sometimes kind of stubborn
to realize things at times.
Major Relations
Edge has a love interest in Rydia after she grows
up in the Land of the Summons but it appears that Rydia isn’t quite interested
in him just yet. Edge doesn’t take things too seriously for the most part
and the only other characters he has relations with are his parents, who are
the King and Queen of Eblan and it appears that Edge has a beef with Cid.
Finally, Edge also has a long score to settle against Rubicand, the fiend of
Fire. These are the people that Edge has the most relations with though.
Character Developments

Edge meets up with Cecil and the others after
he is defeated by Rubicant, the mystical fiend of Fire in the underworld.
Edge is without a doubt the most arrogant character in the game and he later
on meets up with his parents in a shocking and tragic confrontation. Edge
plays a small role in the game, he’s not really an important character but he’s
useful to have in battle, especially if you got some good items to throw away.
Edge mainly wants to avenge his defeat to Rubicant and is quite a stubborn character
overall, or that’s what I think anyways.
Review
While his defense isn’t great, Edge still remains a particularly unique and
an interesting character personality-wise. A cocky, energetic, yet arrogant
individual, Edge’s character is quite believable in the game. Of course,
Edge’s Ninja magic is useful but I think you would probably use Edge’s throw
command the most in tough battles though. I liked Edge’s character, while
not as cool as Kain in my view, Edge is still one of the better characters in
FFIV though.
Weapons/Armor/Accessories
In the game, Edge can equip two swords at once,
in both hands, so he can’t equip any Shields at all. Edge can only use
Ninja blades and he can’t use any other weapons. He can equip some armor
but while his defense isn’t as high as you would like it to be, he still proves
to be a formidable character in battle. Edge does have the ability to
use some Ninja magic which could be helpful and his throw command can be really
helpful in boss battles if you got some good weapons to throw. Edge has
quite poor defense but otherwise, he’s a solid character to use in battle, offensive-wise.
