     Umaro is a large snow beast, within the caves of Narshe and is a very useful and strong physical fighter.  A sheer powerhouse, Umaro is also a kind-hearted beast who wants to prove himself to the outside world and he joins up the others for his own interests but has little reason to fear Kefka and the Empire.  Umaro is also another secret character in FFVI as well.

Major Relations

     Umaro’s only real friend in the game is Mog and while he helps the others out, he can’t communicate with them for the most part.  Umaro still remains a true and loyal ally to the others and he sticks by his best friend, Mog in the struggle against Kefka.  Besides this, he doesn’t have any strong ties to the other characters of the game and little else is known about him.

Character Developments (Spoilers)

     After the party finds Umaro, Mog decides to make Umaro join them on their quest as Umaro has something to prove and shortly afterwards, his physical fighting skills prove to be quite useful to the others.  Umaro is a fierce, yet tame beast and he hopes to obtain personal glory and bragging rights after joining the quest to defeat the Empire and Kefka too.

Review

     Nothing too much to really say about Umaro but nevertheless, he is a very strong physical fighter who is strictly a major attacker and remains a loyal friend to Mog throughout the game.  While he does look fierce and untamed, he does listen to orders from Mog so he covers that image up quite well.  He does have some faults, for example, his defense is quite weak so you have to be careful not to overuse him.  An interesting character to try out and use though.

Weapons/Armor

     Umaro for the most part doesn’t need any weapons to help him in battle as he uses his bare fists to fight and is simply put, a massive powerhouse in battle.  There are a few exceptions though but Umaro has very little equipment to use overall and his defense isn’t that great so sometimes his fighting style can lead to problems.  Either way, use him well and he will contribute in battle.
