     As a flower seller in the slums of Midgar, it may seem that Aeris isn’t an important character in the game but later on, Cloud finds out about her past.  Aeris is descended from a legendary race and holds a secret that Shinra desperately wants.  Aeris spends most of her time eluding and running away from the Shinra but later on helps Cloud in his cause.

Major Relations

     In the early parts of the game, it is revealed that Aeris was adopted by a woman named Elmyra and that Aeris doesn’t know who her real parents were and believes they have all died out, just like the rest of the other Ancients.  Later on, Aeris learns to make good friends with Cloud and she also cares for Marlene, Barret’s “daughter” and she also has a rivalry with Tifa, in a secret kind of way.  Also, Aeris is directly opposed to Sephiroth and later on tries to stop him from reaching his ultimate goal.  Other than this, Aeris doesn’t have major relations with the others.

Character Developments (Spoilers)

     Aeris is an Ancient, a legendary race of people believe to hold the secret to the “Promised Land”, a place full of excellent magic and Materia that Shinra desperately wants to get to for world domination.  She is a kind character and has a good heart and while she isn’t a good fighter, she is primarily the main healer of the game.  She does take interest in the love triangle between herself, Tifa and Cloud.

Review

     A weak character for the most part, Aeris definitely helps out your party when it comes to healing abilities as her healing Limit Breaks are great for tougher boss battles and all.  Her personality is well-liked as well and she is a kind and caring girl who also secretly likes Cloud throughout the game.  Also, she plays a central role in the game later on during the whole Shinra and Sephiroth ordeal.

Weapons/Armor

     Strength-wise, Aeris is a very weak character physically and she’s not much of a fighter overall.  Aeris is a great healer though, so she specializes more in magic and stuff like that.  Aeris mainly uses Staffs and Rods as weapons and she can equip armor like anyone else.

     Aeris’ Limit Breaks are not attack-based ones, instead, they are more defensive and recovery ones that will help your party when they are weak or if they need a defensive boost.  This is where her healing abilities come in handy as most of her limits can heal the entire party and sometimes can cure status problems as well.  However, Aeris’ limits are hard to get once you reach the higher levels though.
