Chocobos
About (No Spoilers)
In FF7, Chocobos play the standard transportation role and in FF7, you also have the ability to breed and race them as well. By training your Chocobos well, they can mate with other ones and can produce offspring which possibly inherits useful abilities of their parents. If you train and breed them well enough, you can win quite a bit of GP at the Chocobo Races in Gold Saucer and maybe even get the famous Gold Chocobo to travel to far off caves and get some very rare material and summons.
