     Cid always dreamed of flying up into space but however, that dream was crushed after Shinra cancelled his space mission.  He is an expert pilot and his main role in the game as he supplies the airship for the party.  While he has a large ego, he is a strong character and a useful character in the game overall.

Major Relations

     Cid, while it may seem that he fights for his own causes, has some relations with some of the people at Shinra during his space mission.  However, they are merely thoughts of hatred and revenge.  He does live with a woman named Shera, who is his wife but they don’t get along well for the most part as Shera is slow to Cid’s standards.

Character Developments (Spoilers)

     As the main pilot of the game, Cid is a very important character and while he does have an attitude much like Barret plus he has a large ego, he still remains a determined and faithful character.  While he may not seem to care much about the others early on, he will learn to get along well with the others and eventually becomes a leader in the game.  While he fights for his own causes for revenge against Shinra for destroying his dream about going into space, he later on helps the others to save the world.

Review

     While Cid definitely has an attitude problem, he is nevertheless a strong character and he plays an important role in the game as he supplies the others with an airship to chase after Sephiroth and Shinra.  Also, he fights for the same cause as the others in saving the world from destruction at the hands of Sephiroth.  Later on Cid’s character changes and begins to become a solid leader in the temporary absence of Cloud.

Weapons/Armor

     For weapons, Cid can only equip Lances and spears, much like the Dragoon Knights of old FF games.  Even still, he is a very strong character and he is an asset in battles.  Plus, he can also equip armor as well and his attack power is almost as good as Cloud for the most part.

     For the most part, Cid’s Limits are powerful and useful against most groups of enemies.  While a couple aren’t nearly too strong and useless, the majority of Cid’s Limit Breaks are very strong, especially in tough boss battles when he first joins your party.  Cid has 4 levels of Limits like most characters in the game.
