Cloud Strife

About (No Spoilers)

     Cloud is the main character of the game and decides to join the rebel group AVALANCHE in their rebellion against the Shinra, an evil, power-hungry corporation who is sucking Mako energy out of Midgar.  Later on, this struggle will prove to be much more and will determine the fate of the living world.

Major Relations

     In the game, Cloud meets up with his childhood friend from Nibelheim, Tifa in the early part of the game, shortly after joining AVALANCHE.  Other than that, he doesn’t really have any major relations with the other characters in the game but he does get caught up in a love triangle between Tifa and Aeris for the early parts of the game.  Cloud does also have relations to Hojo of Shinra and Sephiroth as it is revealed that Cloud was mainly a test for a “Sephiroth” clone which was a failure.

Character Developments (Spoilers)

     Throughout the game, Cloud will learn to reveal his true identity and cause on the world.  While Cloud is quite cocky and arrogant, Cloud initially joins AVALANCHE as a mere mercenary and later on gets caught up in a big struggle to find and defeat his once long-time idol.  Even still, Cloud is quite a determined character who is willing to seek and defeat a man called Sephiroth at any costs.  Not only that but AVALANCHE eventually joins Cloud on his cause as well.

Review

     FFVII does manage to go into a lot of depth with Cloud as a character and over the course of the game, he learns his true identity and learns to cope with it as well.  While he does tend to go crazy and goes psycho at times, he is still a kind-hearted character with a cocky attitude, yet, he is a determined character in tough situations as well.  Nevertheless, Cloud is the most important character in the game and his Limit Breaks are really useful in battle as well.  His sword is also quite large, much larger than the swords in past FF games.

Weapons/Armor

     The only weapons that Cloud can equip are Swords and he can equip Bangles and other stuff as armor like everyone else.  Cloud is a strong character and he’s one of the strongest characters in the game, plus his limit breaks are also very strong as well.  Most of Cloud’s weapons have decent or good material growth and slots.

     Cloud has 4 levels of Limit Break attacks like most other characters in the game.  While some are merely for show, the majority of them are powerful Sword attacks which will prove very helpful throughout the course of the game.  Here are all of Cloud’s possible Limit Break attacks:
