     Sorceress Edea is a mysterious woman who has immense power over the world and seeks to destroy any SeeDs who get in her way.  With complete control of the Galbadian army, Sorceress Edea seeks world domination but her plans are quite unknown for most of the game.  The SeeDs are sent to destroy her at any costs before she gains more power.

Major Relations

     Later on, it appears that Edea is actually the wife of Headmaster Cid and eventually, Edea breaks free from Sorceress Ultimecia’s spell.  She has close ties with all the SeeDs and with Headmaster Cid obviously as well.  Edea used to be called “Matron” by the SeeDs as she took care of them when they were growing up in the orphanage.  Besides the SeeDs and Cid himself, Edea does not really have any major ties with the other characters except for Ultimecia who controlled her throughout a good portion of the game.

Character Developments (Spoilers)

     Sorceress Edea is a cold-hearted and evil Sorceress who seeks out to rule the world.  Her plans are quite unknown for most of the game but she does plan to destroy SeeDs who oppose her and later on sends missiles to attempt to destroy Balamb Garden.  Later on, it is revealed that she is under the influence of an even greater Sorceress from the future called “Sorceress Ultimecia”.  However, Edea does long for power and her personality varies throughout the game.

Review

     Edea made a good villain in my view and her cold-hearted personality fit quite well with her role throughout the first half of the game.  After it was learned that Ultimecia was the main enemy, Edea then joined your party and while her personality did not change too much, she remained a loyal and helpful ally which was somewhat odd, but her past made sense though.  While quite weak compared to when you fight her, she still can be a good character to use depending on how well you junction her stats.

Weapons

     Edea has only one Limit Break unlike the other characters of the game for the most part but she is also a temporary character as well.  She is a strong magic user but quite weak when she joins your party unless you junction her properly.
