Quistis Trepe

About (No Spoilers)

     Quistis is an instructor in Balamb Garden and she joined SeeD at quite an early age.  However, she does lack the strict policies and behavior of the other staff members of the Garden Faculty but she is nevertheless, quite well-respected and popular throughout the Garden.  She’s an experienced fighter who can be useful in most situations, especially with her Blue Magic skills.

Major Relations

     As a teacher in Balamb Garden, Quistis has good relations with Headmaster Cid, who is the head of Balamb Garden as well as most of the people who train and live in Balamb Garden as well.  She appears to have shown interest in Squall and deeply cares for him in the early parts of the game and she also has ties to Seifer and Zell as they are all part of Balamb Garden.  She doesn’t get along well with Rinoa for some parts of the game but otherwise, that’s about all the characters she has relations with for the most part.

Character Developments (Spoilers)

     Even though Quistis is an instructor in the Garden, she is hardly ever strict and she apparently has taken a liking for Squall in the early parts of the game.  Deep inside though, she is filled with frustration and anger that sometimes leads to downfalls in her character, personality-wise that is.  However, she can be weak and fragile when it comes to certain feelings and emotions as she does have trouble handling them at times.  As part of the Garden staff, Quistis is an important character, helps the others in their fight against the Sorceress, is quite intelligent, and smart too.

Review

     Personally, I thought Quistis was a well-done character but she is lacking in a few areas of character development.  While she seemed to have good character development in the early parts of the game, she lacked in terms of storyline as the game progressed but her personality doesn’t change all that much though.  Later on, the storyline focused too much on Squall and Rinoa and didn’t concentrate much on the other characters, causing quite a gap between people like Squall and people like Quistis or Irvine.

Weapons/Armor

     Quistis can use Blue Magic attacks as Limit Breaks and she can learn new ones after defeating certain enemies and using certain parts as items.  Most of them are very useful and are quite good against most bosses, however, they are probably wasted on enemies but most of them are good against groups though.
