Freya Crescent

About (No Spoilers)

     Formerly a loyal and honorable Dragoon Knight for the kingdom of Burmecia, Freya searches the world for her lost love, who disappeared many years ago on a mission to become a better warrior.  Freya meets up with Zidane later on in the game and decides to join on his quest after learning about a horrible threat to her homeland, which she left behind many years ago.  She also trains and strives to become strong and to become a better Knight overall.

Major Relations

     Throughout the game, Freya makes several friends and has relations with the people of Cleyra and Burmecia.  She is a longtime friend of Zidane and she has strong ties with her lover, Sir Fratley and the people of Burmecia and Cleyra as well as Dragoons in particular.  Besides this, she does make friends with the other members of the party but not to a strong degree.

Character Developments (Spoilers)

     Freya is a trustworthy and loyal character who hides a dark and tragic past.  While she leaves her homeland of Burmecia behind to search for her lost lover, she has little success in finding him and joins up with Zidane to stop a large threat to her kingdom.  Later on in the game, she does manage to find her lost love, Sir Fratley but he apparently has lost his memory.  Freya is quite a humble and mature character and she is quite serious, unlike Zidane.

Review

     Freya in FFIX is a fairly intelligent and noble character full of loyalty and honor and she is quite smart and knows her way around fairly well.  While Freya doesn’t have much of a unique personality, she is nevertheless a mature character and knows her way around well.  Freya is an important character in the game and is a useful character to use in battle with her Dragon Knight skills.

Weapons/Armor/Accessories

     Like any Dragoon Knight, Freya can equip Lances and Spears as weapons and they are quite strong in terms of damage.  In addition, they are helpful during “Jump” attacks and Freya is quite a versatile character in battle overall.  Freya can also equip heavy armor and helmets like Steiner and while her speed isn’t the greatest, she isn’t entirely that slow and her defense is quite good.  Keep in mind that her Dragon skills can prove handy in sticky situations as well.
