Adelbert Steiner

About (No Spoilers)

     Steiner is a loyal Alexandrian Knight who vows to protect Princess Garnet at any costs and he happens to be blindly loyal to Queen Brahne.  Even though it’s obvious that something’s wrong with Queen Brahne, it takes Steiner quite a while to figure that out, he is quite naïve, and his judgment is quite unreliable.

Major Relations

     Steiner does remain close with the people of Alexandria and throughout a good portion of the game; he remains loyal to Queen Brahne as well.  However, he has strong ties with Garnet who he vows to protect with his life and he shares a secret rivalry with Beatrix, who is the commander of Alexandria’s female army and cares for her too.  Besides these characters, Steiner has little to do with other characters in the game, but he does respect Vivi though and looks up to him due to his powerful Black Magic.

Character Developments (Spoilers)

     As a loyal and trustworthy knight in Alexandria, Steiner is nevertheless fairly unreliable to count on and he is a strong-willed man.  Although, he sometimes he takes too much pride in himself, which does lead to various character flaws as well.  Steiner has trouble trusting Zidane and the others and eventually, he learns to overcome his blind loyalty to Queen Brahne and understands his true cause for fighting.  He does vow to protect Garnet on anything and at any cost however.

Review

     Steiner is a strong character and proves to be more than capable of handling himself in battle.  However, he is quite loyal to Queen Brahne and fails to realize the concept that he has been betrayed.  Nevertheless, Steiner is a loyal bodyguard to Princess Garnet and vows to protect her with his life and over the course of the game; he learns to understand the situation and uses his loyalty for the good of the party.  It does take him quite some time to adjust however.  Steiner is the only character in the game that can wield Knight swords and his Sword Arts can prove to be useful.

Weapons/Armor/Accessories

     Steiner can wield Swords and is a very strong character to use in battle.  Moreover, he can equip very heavy armor and while his speed is slow, his defense remains high and he can use that to his advantage.  Simply put, Steiner is a powerhouse and a good character to have in your party when you need a strong character.
