Final Fantasy XIII-2 Battle
System Video
|
December 6, 2011 |
Recently, video footage of FF
XIII-2's Battle System has surfaced and from impressions thus far,
it retains many of the aspects found in the first game, with some
enhancements. Paradigm Shifts are still present, but posing
animations are removed and cinematic action sequences. This makes
for quicker paradigm shifts. The third party member is now a
monster that can be recruited throughout the game.
The Japanese release of the game is set for December 15th, 2011.
North America will see it hit store shelves on January 31, 2012.

Main Final Fantasy series
coming back to Nintendo?
|
May 23, 2011 |
|
A recent rumor has surfaced on several internet
sources in regards to Final Fantasy XV. Recently, Nintendo's
planned list of goodies to be shown at this year's upcoming E3
leaked and supposedly claims that FFXV will be shown on "Project
Cafe" during their press conference. For those that do not
know, Project Cafe is the codename for the next generation
incarnation of the Wii console. Some rumored features includes
HD graphics, Blu-Ray drive and a touch input controller. It
will be revealed and playable at E3.
What are the chances of a main FF title appearing
on a Nintendo console again? The last time this happened was
when Final Fantasy VI was released on the SNES in 1994. Given
the revenue from multi-platform releases (i.e. - Final Fantasy XIII
on the XBox360), success of FF remakes on the DS, and with several
new consoles from Nintendo, such as the 3DS, NGP and Cafe, this
sounds like a very good possibility. Nintendo is anxious to
make a big impact as usual, so this would certainly be a major
boost. Then you get into the question of whether FFXV would be
console-exclusive or multi-platform. There is little doubt
that Square-Enix will make the game multi-platform, as it would be
silly to suggest otherwise.
It will be interesting to see how this
rumor plays out. In my opinion, I think there is a very good
chance this is going to happen.

Final Fantasy V and VI on
PlayStation Network
|
April 16, 2011 |
|
The Japanese division of Square-Enix has recently
announced that Final Fantasy V and VI will be available on the
PlayStation Network under their "Game Archives" services. Both SNES
classics feature additional content, including new CGI scenes for
instance. No word yet on a North American or European PAL release
but I would expect that it will be in the future sometime.

Flash Bug Fixed!
|
April 16, 2011 |
|
For quite some time, there has been a bug in our
Flash navigation top panel. Users would click on a page (e.g.
Final Fantasy XII) which then renders the navigation panels useless.
We have hard coded the URLs such that the server knows the Flash
controls are running on site, so this issue will not occur anymore.
Other cosmetic updates were applied so feel free to look around!

the aftermath of the recent devastating earthquake/tsunami tragedy,
Square-Enix and many other Japanese game companies are working

shut down, including servers for Final Fantasy XI and XIV. There is
no date for return of these services but in the meantime, PlayOnline
